More Determination Than Experience
Before real estate, I was a copywriter, managing newsletters and running an online magazine, then working in community management for a technology company. I’ve always been drawn to the same thing: helping people understand something complicated in language that actually makes sense.
That’s exactly what led me into real estate. I bought my first investment property years ago with more determination than experience, and I made plenty of mistakes along the way, deals that didn’t pencil out, late-night maintenance calls, lessons I had to learn the hard way. Over 20+ years, I built and managed a residential portfolio across Texas and Kansas, and I turned everything I learned into The Solo Woman’s Guide to Real Estate Investing, so other people wouldn’t have to learn it the way I did.
Today, I’m a Realtor® with Hoyden Homes, a certified Seniors Real Estate Specialist® (SRES®), and I still manage my own investments, which means when I sit down with a client, I’m not reciting theory. I’m speaking from experience.
